Selva Doce Chocolate -Sustainable Brazilian Chocolate

UI DESIGN

BRANDING

Selva Doce Branding & UI Design

Personal Project

This project was a comprehensive self-initiated exploration of branding, visual storytelling, and sustainable product design. I developed the brand from scratch, starting with the name and visual identity. The logo was designed to reflect both the organic roots of the brand and the structured elegance of a premium chocolate label. I defined the overall brand style, crafting a visual language that uses natural color palettes, botanical illustrations, and modern yet approachable typography.

To bring the brand to life across multiple touchpoints, I designed a fictional landing page that showcases Selva Doce’s story, values, and product line. I also illustrated the packaging, drawing inspiration from Brazil’s native plant species and the textures of the forest. Supporting graphic assets were created to form a cohesive identity system that could be applied across digital and physical formats. Through this project, I aimed to explore how design can support ecological awareness and tell meaningful stories—transforming a chocolate bar into a statement of care, craft, and conservation.

Key Learnings

Working on this project taught me how to build a cohesive brand identity that clearly communicates values like sustainability, biodiversity, and ethical sourcing. I gained experience in using illustration not just for decoration, but as a key storytelling tool that enhances the overall brand experience-particularly in packaging design. Designing the landing page gave me the opportunity to align UI design with brand storytelling, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience. Even though this was a personal project, I approached it with the mindset of a real client collaboration, which helped me improve how I present concepts and think about scalability across platforms.

Reflection

This project allowed me to explore how branding can communicate purpose and values effectively. The biggest challenge was designing a landing page that was both playful yet modern and easy to navigate. If I were to revisit it, I’d expand the digital experience even more and explore more touchpoints.  I would also like to explore more packaging designs and visual assets.
